Social Cohesion
The plantation sector in Sri Lanka has been plagued with various socio-economic issues, such as
poverty and ethnic tensions. To address these challenges, this NGO's project aims to create social
cohesion and support peace and reconciliation activities among different ethnicities residing in
upcountry Sri Lanka. The project will provide life skills training, diversified income sources
through agricultural activities, access to modern market practices, and other resources that can
help improve the living standards of people living in these areas. The overall goal of the project
is to build bridges between different ethnicities by providing them with opportunities for
economic growth and development. It is expected that this project, if successful, will help
improve the livelihoods of plantation workers in the country while also ensuring that they are
living in a harmonious environment without any discrimination or violence. Through this
project, our NGO aims to create an inclusive environment where everyone can coexist peacefully
with respect for each other’s differences.
