Women cooperation Society
The WCS (Women Cooperation Society) has launched a project to strengthen and educate
women in upcountry Sri Lanka by providing them with savings and livelihood activities to
increase their ability to cope with any economic or food crisis. The project was created to
provide women with the skills and knowledge necessary to be prepared for any type of economic
or food crisis. The NGO aims to plant trees to increase green cover in the area, improve the
quality of soil, and reduce the risk of soil erosion. Through this initiative, women will be able to
gain knowledge about sustainable practices, as well as earn some income from the sale of
various tree-based products. The organization also plans on training women in various
agricultural skills such as planting and harvesting of crops. The project is expected to benefit
many communities by providing employment opportunities for women that can help them
become financially independent and socially empowered. Through this initiative, they seek to
provide a sustainable future for both rural communities and the environment.
